Angie Harmon

Angie Harmon and Jason Sehorn broke up. How are other athlete/starlet pairs doing?

Movie stars who marry movie stars? So trite. Just means they met on the job, like everyone else you know. But when Jason Sehorn dropped to one knee and proposed to Angie Harmon on Jay Leno’s “Tonight Show” in 2000, it was an epic moment in a very special genre of celebrity romance: the starlet/athlete couple. Like Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio a half century earlier, they connected at the peak of fame in their respective fields – she as star of “Law & Order,” he as cornerback for the New York Giants. Their matching dimples just added to the glamour.

After 13 years and three children, Harmon and Sehorn announced they have separated, People reported Sunday night, which is all very sad. But how has it worked out for their fellow stars of sports and screen?

Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio

How’d they fare?: Newspapers were abuzz in the mid-1950s when the legendary Yankee was photographed visiting the blonde bombshell at the 20th Century Fox studio. They eloped at the beginning of 1954 — the second of Monroe’s three marriages — but didn’t make it to the end; she filed for divorce after nine months citing mental cruelty. But there were whispers they were heating up again just before she died; he sent flowers to her grave for years thereafter.

Jayne Mansfield and Mickey Hargitay

How’d they fare?: When the blonde bombshell met Mr. Universe 1955, it was love at first sight. The Hungarian bodybuilder proposed to the actress before she was even divorced from husband No. 1; they wed in 1958. After Mansfield had a couple of not-so-secret affairs, they divorced in 1963. Three children, including “Law & Order: SVU’s” Mariska Hargitay.

Andy Roddick and Brooklyn Decker

Status: Yet another way in which professional athletes are not like the rest of us. After tennis’s former No. 1 saw the Sports Illustrated swimsuit model and actress on TV, he had his agent contact her agent to arrange a date. The rest is history. They’ve been married since 2009.

Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade

Status: Still together! The “Being Mary Jane” star has a thing for athletes. She dated Jason Kidd in high school, married/divorced the NFL’s Chris Howard and hooked up with Dwyane Wade in 2009. The pair were married earlier this year.

Pete Sampras and Bridgette Wilson

Status: This pair has made it more than a decade, which is the equivalent of roughly 60 Hollywood years. The tennis champ married the actress in 2000, which is roughly the last time we saw her in anything — though in fairness he retired shortly thereafter, too. They have two sons.

Eva Longoria and Tony Parker

Status: Divorced. The “Desperate Housewives” star divulged that she found some unsavory text messages while snooping on the San Antonio Spur’s phone. They split in 2011, after four years of marriage.

Rick Fox and Vanessa Williams

Status: Divorced, amicably. The singer/actress married the basketball player in 1999. They were divorced about five years later, but Fox showed up on her “Ugly Betty” in 2007, playing the bodyguard-paramour of Williams’ character. Fox went on to date another actress, Eliza Dushku, from 2009 until earlier this year. Williams is engaged to an accountant.

Andre Agassi and Brooke Shields

Status: Divorced, less amicably. Time is supposed to heal all wounds, but in the case of the tennis player and the actress with the incredible eyebrows, that adage doesn’t really apply. They were married in 1997 for less than two years, but as of last year, they were still dredging up old, sad memories.

Cutter Dykstra and Jamie-Lynn Sigler

Status: The “Sopranos” actress and baseball player have been together since 2012. They were engaged last year, but don’t appear to be in any rush to tie the knot. They also have a son together, Beau, born in August 2013.

Nick Swisher and Joanna Garcia
Status: The couple that introduced Dykstra and Sigler — she’s the star of “Once Upon a Time,” he plays first base for the Cleveland Indians, they married in 2010 and have one daughter together.

Alex Rodriguez and [blonde starlet]

Status: The divorced Yankee has been linked to Cameron Diaz, Kate Hudson and Madonna (which the singer denies), not to mention strippers and a madam. None of these relationships has lasted.

Derek Jeter and [brunette starlet]
Status: Jeter has been linked to Mariah Carey, Minka Kelly, Vanessa Lachey (née Minnillo), Jessica Biel and Jordana Brewster. He’s most recently been seen with model Hannah Davis.

Ashley Judd and Dario Franchitti

Status: Divorced and it’s complicated. It really seemed like these two were going to make it. More than 11 years is pretty impressive, even in the real world. The actress and the race car driver were married from 2001 until 2013. But the two continue to be in each other’s lives, whatever that means.

Tom Brady and Bridget Moynahan

Status: An unexpected outcome of the Patriots’ QB and actress’s 2006 breakup — she was pregnant. Brady went on to marry Victoria’s Secret model Gisele Bundchen and have two children with her. If seemingly staged photos are any indication, the three parents and three kids are basically one happy family. That’s as close to happily ever after as most starlets get.

Monica and Shannon Brown
Status: Singers have a knack for picking up Sig-Others on the set of their videos and that’s what happened with these two. After the NBA player had a cameo in the video for “Love All Over Me,” the pair fell in love and eloped, in 2010. They had a daughter, Laiyah, in 2013.

Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie

Status: Separated. This quote from the singer-actress about her husband — a retired NHL player — pretty much says it all: “I mean, if there wasn’t a chance for getting back [together], I think we would’ve filed for divorce,”she said during a radio show. The two married in 2010 and have one son together.

Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher

Status: Married and expecting. The hockey player met the country singer/TV’s Maria von Trapp after a 2008 concert, and they were engaged a year later. They married in 2010 and announced they were expecting a child on Instagram. Celebs: they’re just like us.

Carmelo Anthony and La La Anthony

Status: Married. These two had an actual five-year engagement, and then some. The DJ-turned-actress and the Knicks forward were engaged in 2004 and got married in 2010. In between they gave birth to a son, Kiyan, and a reality series, “La La’s Full Court Wedding.”

Holly Robinson Peete and Rodney Peete

Status: Winners. The “Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper” actress married the quarterback in 1995. They have four children, and they’re still married. Cue the slow clap.

Phylicia Rashad and Ahmad Rashad

Status: Clair Huxtable was married to the wide receiver from 1985 until 2001. It was the third marriage for both. The former football star went on to marry again, but the Tony winner has not. (Fun fact: Phylicia Rashad’s second marriage was to one of the Village People. The more you know. . .)

Victoria Beckham and David Beckham

Status: Married with (many) children. After ending a relationship with Corey Haim, Posh Spice met Becks during a charity football match. He apparently got with her friends, because they were married in 1999. They have four kids.

Enrique Iglesias and Anna Kournikova

Status: Together? We guess? The two have been dating on and off since the now-retired tennis player appeared in Iglesias’s 2001 music video for “Escape.” As recently as October 2014, Iglesias called Kournikova “the best partner in all my adventures” in an interview with one tabloid, while a separate gossip rag said they split a week later. We’re not the only ones confused about their relationship — even Iglesias’s own father hasn’t met the blonde-haired beauty.

Rihanna and Matt Kemp

Status: Split. A few months after her infamous relationship with Chris Brown, Rihanna dated Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp for a spell. (A couple months? A year? Hard to tell from the tabloids.) Seemingly her Brown rebound, Kemp was back in the picture for a bit after the songstress’s second go-round with the R&B singer in 2013, but they haven’t been seen together since.

Iggy Azalea and Nick Young

Status: The rap superstar and Los Angeles Laker, together since late 2013, are still dating. He has defended her honor against Snoop Dogg on Twitter and the two will appear in Forever 21′s holiday ads together — true love if we’ve ever seen it.
